It hit me in the head, after reading many success stories of people creating a small fortune with Opt-In-Lists. I decided to have my own one. I thought I knew everything there is to know about Opt-In-Lists and followed there advice to the last letter, and still didn't make any profit.
In truth it was a loss. There were some expenses incurred with a hired writer, having a large list, with a very small percentage of buyers. I was still at a minus, after a few month's seeing my statistics and sales figures.
What could have gone wrong? Thinking. Why have others been successful, where I failed? The most common error I learned, diving right into it. I choose a topic assuming it would be popular and earn money, that didn't fly. Just because I wrote people on the list, didn't mean they would buy, immediately.
Let me tell you, that those who have started an Opt-In-List and failed, can still turned your failed adventure around. Here are 3 quick-an-easy ways, to build a profitable Opt-In-List.
1. Build customer trust with you and your product first. Put many articles out there before you start an Opt-In-List. Write about topics and products, you have used on your website. Put a Forum on your site, for customers wants and needs, then fulfill their desires. Simply launching your Opt-In-List doesn't make you an expert or believable seller.
2. Network with other Opt-In users. It's a benefit if someone else has launched successfuly to their Opt-In-List. Those people are experienced in this adventure and knowledgeable teacher. While there are many articles available on the Internet to use, it's nothing like getting it first hand from someone you trust.
3. Find a service that people want and need. If you have did your research homework and learned well, move forward. Invest the time, effort and money to meet the needs and wants of your Opt-In-List.
Experienced Opt-In users will tell you what to do and not to do, because they have been there before. While different situations occur for different people, the general concept can be extremely helpful, knowing there are many things to avoid and these people will show you which ones.
Opt-In-Lists are built from scratch. As your list grows, your quality should remain at high level, for your customers. Keep it organized and manageable. Don't hesitate to hire help if need be, to keep happy and satisfied subscribers, that will buy from you for many years.
